August (Yep, the titles are getting less interesting)

We started out the month of August with a trip to Young's Dairy for dinner, just because we could since we were out anyways to exchange Fiona's shoes. Then on Sunday we took the girls in their first Jeep ride. It was a bit of a pain getting the carseats in there so it's not something we'll be doing all the time, but they did have a lot of fun. We just drove up to Chris and Jennifer's to say "hi" and then to Shoup Park for some lunch and playground time.

On Tues (the 4th) Caitlin came over in the late morning and the afternoon. We walked around and watered the neighborhood plants, had some lunch, and we went to the playground in the afternoon. Then on Friday I took both girls with me on a run at Iron House Park. It was not the fastest run since Fiona was on her bike, but she was faster than the time before. The girls had fun playing on the playground afterwards. We didn't stay super long since we met Grama Carol and Caitlin at the Greene County Fair in the afternoon. All the girls went on a ton of rides. Both Fiona and Caitlin liked the 'drop' ride, which surprised me, as well as the helicopters (Fiona's favorite). We also went on the Ferris Wheel a couple of times.

Mom got here on Saturday (the 8th) and we had a family dinner with everyone before we headed out of town the next morning to drive down to FL. I'll make a separate post with all the FL fun. We got back on the 15th and Mom flew back home the next day, which a recovery day for us. Well except Ava, who asked to put her bathing suit on as soon as we finished breakfast (since that's what we'd been doing for the previous week). :)

Not much happened the next week, except that I worked a little more (reserve days). On the 25th I took the girls to the Cincinnati Zoo, which we've never been to before and they really liked. We spent almost the entire day there, getting home around 6:30 after stopping to pick up Dewey's pizza. Fiona was having Ava practice saying her name and she got it right - Fi-o-na - instead of Nona, which is what she usually calls her. They also spend a lot of time telling each other knock-knock jokes.

Which meant that Ava did too, but I wouldn't unbuckle her every time (and of course, she wanted to be buckled whenever she sat in the stroller).

I got the tickets that included unlimited train and carousel rides, so we did each of them twice. The train we did early and then again right before we left.

Friday (the 28th) was Fiona's first day of school, which I actually posted about right after it happened (shocking!). And we finished out the month with having friends (Justin and Kerrianne) over for a movie night. It was also the girls first night in their bunk beds. We hadn't planned for them to share a room, but after Ava tried to climb out of her crib and fell to the ground we figured it was time for her to move to a twin bed. Fiona heard us talking about it and said she wanted the top bunk, so we put the beds together as bunk beds and the girls started sharing a room, which is working out good.
