Fiona keeps figuring new things out. Sometime last week we noticed that she'll turn a book so the words are facing the correct direction if she picks it up upside down. She's started saying some words (so we think) like "duck" and "daa" (which sounds like dog). She's learned to clap (this one she's known for a little while) and is learning to wave. And she's on the verge of learning to walk. She's taken as many as 6-12 small steps in a row (traversing about a foot with no support), but it's still infrequently and usually not when she knows people are watching. Plus, her top two teeth have been breaking through over the past 3-4 days (which made for a couple of nights of waking up every two hours last Thursday and Friday). So she's got a lot going on right now.
She's also learned the bedtime routine and for the first time yesterday she protested. Granted we let her stay up a little later because we started watching the Super Bowl so she wasn't happy to leave her fun toys, but as soon as I took her blankets out of her crib she knew that she was going in there soon and IMMEDIATELY started crying...little stinker. She is also becoming a big time Grandma's girl so tonight she protested when I put her to bed because she wanted to stay with Grandma longer (we're living with Sean's parents until we get our new place). However, overall she's a big sweetie that gives me and Sean big smiles and hugs when we get home from work, wakes up happy in the morning and after naps, and enjoys playing, reading books and exploring grown-up things.
