1 year check up

Fiona had her one year check up on April 1st.  We tried out a new doctor based on a couple of recommendations from coworkers.  The appointment was pretty standard.  They measured and weighed Fiona, which she hated and screamed until it was done.  The doctor talked about nutrition & sleeping and checked her eyes, ears, pulse, etc.  We're giving her almond milk and breastmilk instead of cow's milk so he was a little concerned that she's not getting enough fat, calcium or vitamin D and recommended that we add some olive oil to her foods as well as give her avocados, meat and other foods that are higher in fat.  She doesn't really like meat (I think it's the texture) so I've been sneaking it in with her mashed potatoes.  She gets sunlight (which provides some vitamin D) and green beans, yogurt and other foods that contain calcium.  Plus breastmilk is higher in fat than cow's milk so I don't think he listened to me closely enough...

One year stats:
Height: 28.2 in (49%)
Weight: 17 lbs 8 oz (22%)
Head: 43.7 cm (20%)

The appointment ended with the nurse having to draw blood for lead and anemia tests and then 2 immunizations (Prevnar and Hep A).  Drawing blood for the lead test was the worst; it seemed to take forever to get enough to fill the little vial.  They poked her finger and got it one drop at a time.  The test came back that her lead levels are a little higher than normal (7.5 vs 0-5) so they're going to retest her in a year.
