On Saturday afternoon, after naptime, Fiona went to the playground, which is one of her absolute favorite things to do, with Donna, Margaret, Grama and Daddy while I frosted the cake and got the pizza dough ready. Chris, Jennifer and Caitlin came over almost right as the cake was frosted and playground time was ending. We opened presents before dinner; Fiona did a great job ripping the paper, except for the one from Uncle Leo, which seemed to be sealed with packing tape!
She got some cool new toys (which she loves), 2 balloons (which she also loves), a bunch of clothes, and about a half dozen new books (her current favorite is "Go Dog, Go"). Thank you to everyone!
We made homemade pizza for dinner, a dinner food that Fiona likes (she's been a picky eater the last couple of months). Fiona tried out her toys while the pizza was baking. Then after a delicious time, plus a little digestion time, we lit the (number 2) birthday candle and sang "Happy Birthday" twice, first to Fiona, then to Donna (whose birthday was on Saturday). I felt a little bad cutting the cake because Sean did such an awesome job freehand drawing Snoopy Flying Ace onto the cake, but it had to be done.
Donna and Margaret left on Sunday when Fiona laid down for her nap. The morning was spent playing with toys, including "making a ball, making a ball" with PlayDough, finger (and whole hand) painting, and building a massive MegaBlock structure all around Fiona.
Fiona helped build.
After a 3+ hour nap (we really must have worn her out), we had a quick snack and then went to meet Grama, Papa, Chris, Jennifer and Caitlin at Young's Dairy. The original plan was putt-putt, dinner and ice cream, but dinner took longer than expected so we had a nice dinner, walked around some and then headed home.
Group shot by the cow (not sure why I'm curtsying).
