Donna brought an art project with her, so after we got home Fiona, Donna, and Margaret made Thing 1, Thing 2, and Horton puppets.
I figure this is a good way to share the experiences of our kids with out-of-town family and friends.

GermanFest
Donna and Margaret came to visit this weekend (8/11-8/12) so after sleeping in and a nice breakfast, we decided to check out the annual GermanFest, after a quick stop at the mall. We got there right at lunch time and Fiona's nap time. While Fiona napped in the stroller we enjoyed bratwurst, mettwurst, German potato salad, delicious cake, and locally brewed root beer. We took some time to check out the craft booths and just as we were figuring out what to do next Fiona woke up. So she had her lunch while we had some ice cream, which we shared with her, and then she played in the bounce house a bit (until she got tired of it). She really liked bouncing on her butt. She also played some "carnival" games (like spinning a wheel and pushing a car) where she won a plastic lion (that she picked out herself) and a ladybug jewelry box. We stopped for a family photo and then headed home.
