Requarium

We decided to have another go at making it to the Newport Aquarium (or as Fiona calls it, the requarium, since she inserts "re" at the beginning of different words for whatever reason) on Monday 2/25.  This time it wasn't very busy at all so we were able to get in no problem and had lots of room to look at all the different animals.  Grama Carol, Jennifer, Caitlin, and Jennifer's brother Sean came with us also.  We stopped by the Hofbrauhaus for lunch beforehand again, and spent a good 3 hours at the aquarium looking at everything.  The girls looked at some of the exhibits, but also had fun just walking/running around and Fiona enjoyed trying out different seats in the penguin room.  It was good that she got free admission because it wouldn't have been worth the full price for the amount of stuff she actually looked at.  As she gets a little older she'll be more interested in the animals.

Looking at the fish as we first got in.

A ray shark...they had a lot of different sharks.  This is one of my better pictures.

The octopus was really cool to see.

They had a few displays made just for shorter people.

Ava woke up long enough to get a diaper change, eat, and get a quick picture.  I carried her in the Bjorn, which she wasn't too happy with at first, but once she fell asleep she was fine.

They had a whole room of frogs, including some the kids could sit on.

I thought this fish looked cool, but I can't remember it's name now.

Jennifer and Caitlin looking at the penguins.

A penguin taking a shower!

Failed photo op...this was my best shot.  Fiona wanted to sit between the penguins, like a train, and Caitlin didn't want to sit still at all.  :)
