Then, yesterday (11/19) Fiona stood up by herself without holding onto anything. This is the second time she’s done this. The first was while Sean’s mom was visiting in early November. This time she was playing with her Elmo Sesame Street toy, standing next to it holding one of the hard plastic balls in one hand and using the other to balance herself. She then started to use both hands to hold the ball and no hands on the toy. She stood like this for a few seconds and then decided to grab ahold of the toy again so she wouldn’t fall. When she did this the ball fell on the floor behind her. She then looked over her shoulder to look for it and proceeded to reach over to the coffee table and started to move along the coffee table towards it. She got distracted before she actually got to it.
She is once again not very interested in eating solids. She’ll eat some nights, but others she just clamps her mouth shut and whines. She does enjoy playing with the food if I put small chunks in front of her. We’ll just keep trying…she’s not starving so I figure she’ll get it eventually.
New toys must be tasted.
