Butterfly House

A week ago Saturday (7/14) we went to the Butterfly House at the Cox Arboretum.  It's open for 7 or 8 weeks during the summer and we missed it last year so I really wanted to go this year.  It'd been dry here for a couple of weeks so the grass was really brown, but the flowers still looked good.  Sean's mom came with too and Jennifer and Caitlin met us there.

Looking at the turtles.  I counted at least 10 that had their heads above or near the surface.

Saying hi to Zip, the border collie work dog that maintains good order in the park.  As we were leaving I saw a sign that said not to pet him, but he was very friendly.

Zip going for a dip.  You can also see the rock garden on the other side of the pond.

Fiona (eating a Cheerio) and Caitlin, ready to see some butterflies.

There were a lot of monarch butterflies in the house.

We also saw a white cabbage moth, an orange moth (can't remember it's official name), a yellow moth (again, can't remember the full name), and black swallowtail caterpillars.

After looking at the butterflies, as well as lots of rocks and sticks and dirt, we went to Logan's for a late lunch/early dinner and then back home.
