Party Time

Last Saturday (12/15) was the Children's Holiday Party at my work.  Every year they have crafts, games, Santa, a puppet show and food for the employees and their families.  This is the second year we've gone.  Fiona was much more interested in the crafts and games this year.  She still had no interest in seeing Santa.  She played almost every game they had set up, like 'ice fishing', 'bowling', and other similar games, and had a snack of cotton candy and juice.  She also made a paper bag reindeer, colored a mitten, and got a balloon flower.  The balloon flower was her favorite.  It was the only station with a line and she waited behind 7 or 8 other kids for her turn without any fidgeting.  The balloon guy (a fellow employee) had her giggling while he was making it and she was enthralled watching him.  She still has it after 5 days.  Half the stem is deflated, but otherwise it's in good shape.

Once again we weren't allowed to bring cameras, but this year we did get one picture of Fiona at the party posed in Santa's sleigh. 

 Fiona, the goofball, didn't want to look at the camera for the picture with her flower.  She would turn her head every time I tried to take a picture.  This is as close as I got.  She's looking, but it's blurry.

 A picture of the front and back of Fiona's reindeer.  I traced her hands and cut them out, but she did everything else - glued the hand antlers, eyes & nose, drew the mouth, and signed her name (well the F and O) on the back with a squiggle for good measure.

The reindeer bag turned out to be a good place to store the paper hearts we punched out of some extra paper.  She would put them in the bag and then reach way inside to get them out again.
