Fiona had her first real dentist appointment today. We've been reading a book about the dentist the past night or two and talking about it, so she was ready, and did awesome! She just happened to wear her sunglasses into the office, which worked out great to keep the bright light out of her eyes. Fiona looked at books in the lobby while I filled out the paperwork, then we went back with the hygienist (Gina) where Fiona got to sit on the chair while it went up and back. She showed off how good she can "open wide." Gina showed Fiona the different tools she'd be using before each step and was good at helping Fiona feel comfortable. Fiona let Gina count her teeth (she's got 20) and then polish (or Gina called it tickle) the top ones. She wasn't crazy about that so we skipped the bottom ones, but she let Gina floss all her teeth and then she got to practice with the floss pickers that they gave us to take home. Fiona also got a new toothbrush, some toothpaste, 2 princess stickers and a Tinkerbell pencil. The dentist came in also and checked Fiona's teeth. He counted them again and gave her the all clear (good spacing, no cavities, and a good bite). I was so proud of her.
