The first of many diaper changes on the road.
Hanging out in the carseat...somewhere in Kansas.
On the nice soft bed at Limon...so much better than a carseat!
Scenic overlook near Silverthorne, CO.
Happy to be in beautiful Colorado.
We stopped for lunch at a bistro in Vail. The town was very dead. Most of the shops and restaurants were closed for cleaning until after Memorial Day.
Monday Sean went with his dad and Uncle Charlie on the Kane Creek trail. The girls hung around town. We went grocery shopping, had lunch at the condo and then walked around main street stopping at a bunch of the shops. We got this sling that is like a pouch in front where Fiona can sit and we can carry her around. It worked great while we were walking around town. She was awake at first, but the walking motion slowly rocked her to sleep. It was nice because we walked around for almost 3 hours and I didn't have to keep shifting her. I just checked on her every once in awhile. After the boys got back we had some authentic (hot or mild) tamales that Dorothy brought from Vegas. I had some of each and preferred the mild, but they were both REALLY good.
The boys had MREs for lunch.
A nice shot of the Jeep.
Bob and Uncle Charlie on the trail.
Fiona in her pouch.
And we're off.
Tuesday Sean went with his mom and dad on the Metal Masher trail. I stayed back with Fiona and hung out with Charlie and Dorothy in the afternoon. Fiona took a really long morning nap (3 hours). After she woke up and ate, Charlie, Dorothy and I went to Zax Pizza for lunch (really good) and then walked around town a little more. She actually fell asleep sitting up in my lap at the pizza place...I think that's a once in a lifetime occurrence. For some reason we all thought it'd be a good idea to get the truck washed before we went back to the condo - BAD IDEA. It freaked Fiona out when the water pounded on the roof of the truck and she started screaming. We calmed her down after the first time it happened, but then it happened about 4 more times. She didn't calm down again until we got back to the condo...so lesson learned is that 2 month olds don't like car washes (at least Fiona doesn't). We just hung out at the condo until everyone got back from the trail and then we grilled brats and burgers for dinner.
Fiona and her Pooh bear in the morning (friend or foe?).
The moment our license plate got a hole in it.
Sean and his parents on the trail (great view).
Picnic time.
