In the past week Fiona's neck and head control has improved considerably. We can now sit her up on our laps or the floor without supporting her neck. She'll hold it up for a minute or two now before it slumps to one side or the other or sometimes straight down. Her little legs are also pretty strong. If we stand her up she'll use her legs to support her weight for a couple of seconds. And she likes to push against our tummies with her legs.

She's also very active and alert when she's awake. She makes an adorable "Ah" squeal-like noise that's new (I think we have it on tape). She also kicks her legs, waves her arms, will grab our fingers, smiles a lot more, responds to noises by looking in that direction and will follow objects (like our faces) with her eyes. When she's on her tummy she lifts her head, turns her head from side to side and sometimes will lift her legs and arms at the same time like she's jumping out of an airplane. She likes to interact with us when she's awake, which means we don't get a lot of down time except for when she's sleeping. This past week she's been awake during most of the day, with short 30 min to 1 hour naps and usually one longer (2-3 hour) nap in the afternoon. However she sleeps awesome at night...the pattern the past week has been go to sleep between 9 and 10, get up, eat and go right back to sleep between 12 and 1, 3 and 4 and 6 and 7. Except last night when she slept from 10:30 until 3:45...she completely skipped the midnight feeding.

She's definitely a morning person (for now anyways). She's always smiley and calm in the morning, even with a dirty diaper. In the late afternoon and evening she gets much more fussy.
On Monday Sean gave her her first bottle. I'm going back to work part time starting May 3rd so we decided to try giving her a bottle 2 weeks prior in case she had issues with it. But like most everything else she's very easy-going about it and took to it the first time. Sean gave her about 1 per day all this past week and she hasn't had any issues with it, but since I'm tired of pumping we're waiting until the 3rd to give her another. I (mostly) enjoy the quiet "bonding" when feeding her (unless she fusses and then it's not so quiet) so I'm trying to get as much in as possible while I can.

The last thing I can think of that started this past week is she is sucking on her fist...she's starting to realize she can control her hands and make them do whatever she wants. She doesn't do it a lot, but usually in the evening she'll really go to town on it.
